L'institut pour la coordination et la propagation des cinémas exploratoires (ICPCE) a pour mandat de promouvoir et de diffuser les différentes formes de cinéma, vidéo et d’art numériques d'avant-garde. À cette fin, il met sur pied des programmes de projection d’œuvres essentielles à la compréhension du développement des cinémas d’exploration et/ou à la prise de conscience de l’état actuel des pratiques cinématographiques atypiques. De plus, il organise des rencontres autour d’expériences cinématographiques non traditionnelles et aventurières qui permettent de renouer avec la force d’éblouissement et de révélation du cinématographe des origines. Enfin, il édite sous la forme de DVD, de livres et de documents numériques des œuvres et des études jetant un regard éclairant sur la vigueur des marges reconquises et de l’occupation des sous-sols de l’art cinématographique.

L’institut est membre de l’association internationale pour la sauvegarde des formats cinématographiques en voie d’extinction ainsi que de la corporation transcontinentale pour l’encouragement et l’exploitation des avenues non numériques pour l’avenir du cinéma. L’ICPCE est aussi l’initiateur de l’alliance pour la diffusion des films jamais présentés publiquement et l’instigateur de la base de données sur les films inconnus.

The Institute for the Coordination and Propagation of Exploratory Cinemas (ICPCE) mandate is to promote and diffuse the various shapes of avant-garde cinema, video and digital arts. For this purpose, it organize screening programmes of essential works for the comprehension in the development of exploratory cinemas and/or in the awakening of actual position of atypical cinematographic practices. Moreover, it organizes meetings around nontraditional and adventurous cinematographic experiments to reinforce the dazzling force and revelation of the cinematograph of the origins. Further, it publishes DVD, books or digital documents of works and studies throwing a lighting glance on the strength of the reconquered margins and the occupation of the subterranean cinematographic art.

The institute is member of the international association for the safeguard of endangered cinematographic formats as well as transcontinental corporation for the encouragement and the exploitation of the non-digital avenues for the future of the cinema. The ICPCE is also the initiator of the alliance for the diffusion of films never presented publicly and the instigator of the database on unknown films.
